From January 30 to February 1, 2026, the Volleyball Federation of Armenia did run their annual Snow Volleyball national championships in the city of Tsaghkadzor, with participation of eight men’s and 10 women’s teams representing a variety of cities and clubs from across Armenia. The competition ended in a double triumph for the Yerevan Sports Club.

Teams from across Armenia competed at the annual event held in Tsaghkadzor

The participating teams competed in subgroups followed by semis and medal matches. In the men’s competition, the quartet representing the Yerevan Sports Club (Vahe Nazaryan, Khachatur Asmaryan, Hayk Baghramyan and Hovhannes Asmaryan) defeated all their rivals and emerged as the winners. The Yerevan Nor-Nork and Soft teams were able to perform solidly too and finished the competition in second and third place, respectively.

The athletes of the Yerevan Sports Club did reap the fruits of their hard work and intensive training. Two of their players – Khachatur Asmaryan and Vahe Nazaryan – have international experience as well, such as from their participation in the 2020 EEVZA Snow Volleyball Championships held in Armenia, which they won, and from stops of the CEV European Snow Volleyball Tour organised in Armenia and Georgia.

The event featured 18 teams across the two genders

In the women’s championship, the Yerevan Sports Club team (Milena Tonoyan, Amalya Karapetyan, Elizaveta Tonoyan, Vera Mkrdumyan) did not concede a single set throughout the whole tournament. They have much experience as well, such as from participating in the 2024 CEV U20 Snow Volleyball European Championships in Bakuriani, Georgia, where they finished sixth, and in 2025 participated in the same competition held in Karpacz, Poland. Team BSU and Ajapnyak claimed second and third place to complete the podium.

The top three teams were awarded with medals and cups and prize money was at stake as well – 1,500 € per gender.
